SOUTH MOUNTAIN PARK
South Mountain is the world's largest desert municipal Park. Features include a seven-mile paved road to lookouts at 2,300 ft. and 2,600 ft. in elevation. There are 58 miles of trails for hiking, climbing, horseback riding, and mountain biking. Reservable ramadas are a great place for gatherings. The main ranger station was constructed with native stone in the early 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.Open from 4:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.
